Last week, the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) released the report to the new President of the State of Israel, Yitzhak Herzog. It presented strategic and military challenges and professional recommendations from leading analysts.

According to this document, nowadays Israel is in the epicenter of political differences in the Middle East. As before, the Iranian nuclear program is the basic threat to Israel, but the last military operation, the "Guardian of the Walls", revealed a lot of new issues in Israeli society.

Other challenges included a crisis at northern borders, significant activization by terrorist organizations, and a huge gap in consciousness between Israeli-Jews and Israeli-Arabs.

Although the State of Israel has succeeded with the most military force than its opponents, instability in government, society, borders in the south and north, makes the country vulnerable in the field of security.

Which direction should the state advance in, what strategic goals will the IDF have to achieve in the near future? All the answers to these questions were outlined in a report from the Institute for National Security Studies.
